Frequently asked questions
Balanced Statement converts PDF, scanned and photographed bank statements to Excel (.xlsx, with a balance-check sheet), CSV, QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) and Xero bank statement CSV. You pay per statement with credits that never expire, and every statement is checked against its own balances.
Answers
Is there a subscription?
No. You buy a credit pack once (€12 for 10, €49 for 60, €129 for 200 credits, prices in euros excluding VAT) and use the credits whenever you like. Credits never expire and there is nothing to cancel.
What does one credit cover?
One statement of up to 10 pages, with every download format included. A statement of 11 to 20 pages uses 2 credits; 20 pages is the maximum. Per credit that is €0.65 to €1.20, depending on the pack.
Is the first statement free?
Yes. Your first statement of up to 5 pages is free. You log in with your email (we send a login link); no password and no card.
What happens if the balance doesn't match?
Every result is checked: the opening balance plus all transactions must equal the closing balance, and every running balance printed on the statement is checked row by row. If a complete statement doesn't add up, we misread something: the result is marked Failed, the rows that don't reconcile are highlighted, and it's free (up to 5 times in 30 days, then it uses credits). If pages are missing or the statement prints no balances, the result is marked Not verified so you know to review it.
Which formats can I export?
Excel (.xlsx, with a balance-check sheet), CSV, QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) and Xero bank statement CSV. Every format of a converted statement is included in its credit. IIF files aren't supported.
Do you store my statements?
No. Statements are processed in memory, never written to disk or to a database, and deleted 5 minutes after your first download (15 minutes if you don't download). We keep only metadata such as the page count, the bank name and whether it balanced. Statements from banks in our template library (Bank of Cyprus, Eurobank, Revolut, Wise and monobank) are read by our own parser, with no AI service involved; other statements are read by our AI provider, Anthropic, which deletes them within 30 days (see the privacy policy).
Which banks work?
Statements from most banks work: any statement that lists transactions with an opening and closing balance or a running balance can be converted and checked. Our template library recognises Bank of Cyprus, Eurobank, Revolut, Wise and monobank (supported banks). New statement layouts are learned automatically, so more banks are read without AI over time.
Can I convert scanned statements or photos?
Yes. Scanned PDFs and photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC) work; several photos become the pages of one statement. Up to 20 pages and 25 MB per statement. Flat, well-lit pages read best; if a digit is misread, the balance check flags the row.
Can I get a refund?
Unused credits are refundable within 30 days of purchase. If a result you paid for is wrong, the "This result is wrong" button returns its credit straight away (up to 3 times in 30 days). See refunds.
